CGK ( Challakere Govindanayakana maga Krishnaswami), a well known theatre artist of Karnataka. In his name”CGK Ranga Puraskara” award is given in every district to the personalities who worked in theatre throughout their career. Karnataka Beedi Nataka Academy will select theatre activists for this award. This year from Dakshina Kannada, IK Boluwar was chosen for this prestigious award. IK Boluwar is famous for his theatre activities, especially in children and street theatre. He had written and directed many plays in his career. This award was given to him on 27 June 2018, in Padua College of Commerce And Management Auditorium.

Renowned theatre and film artist Mr. Chandrahas Ullal and Dr. Narasimha Moorty, doctorate in street theatre was the Chief Guest for the programme. Rev Fr Vincent Monteiro felicitated Mr IK Boluwar; Rev Fr Alwyn Serrao, Principal Padua College of Commerce and Management welcomed the gathering. This program was organized in Dakshina Kannada by Padua Ranga Adhyayana Kendra, a drama troupe of the college.
